Iva's Place is dedicated to making a significant impact on ending Domestic Violence and homelessness Loudon County by providing comprehensive safe haven services to women and women with children. These services will offer empowerment skills to women and women with children so that, by choice, they can successfully redirect their futures. The displaced women and women with dependent children population, in need of lodging and meals, is often recognized as single women and women with children (single parent families) who have been abandoned by their partners or family members, have been evicted from residence, and do not have the financial means to support themselves or their children.
History: Iva's Place is a community based 501 C3 non-profit agency founded in 1991 as Loudon County Domestic Violence Crisis Center located in Lenoir City, TN. In 2006, the name was changed to Iva's Place and services were extended to include lodging for Women in Crisis and transitional apartments. In 2008 in the City of Loudon, the Neighborhood Stabilization project was started to provide low cost homes.
